Chamber is number one place for networking

Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry is officially the best place to network.

The chamber took the title of Midlands Networking Group of the Year at the 2010 Midlands Business of the Year Awards held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel.

Director of Membership Services Henrik Court and Events and Sponsorship Executive Joanne Bullock, received the accolade from Ivan Vickers, MD of sponsor TriPhase Business Solutions.

This was the fourth year of the awards and more than 300 people attended the ceremony at the NEC Hilton Metropole Hotel. Coincidentally, the guest of honour was Jerry Blackett, chief executive of Birmingham and Solihull Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mr Court said: “We are delighted to have received official recognition for the efforts of the Chamber in winning this award. Providing networking opportunities is a key part of the service we offer to our members.”

Harj Sandher, MD of organisers UK Special Events, the company behind the event, said: “We had some excellent entries and are delighted that the event is growing in popularity and quality. The range of talent in the Midlands is huge and the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and kicking.”
