Tamworth nursing home is tops for service

Tamworth-based Sunningdale Nursing Home has scooped a top award for its service.

The home is part of the Restful Homes Group, which operates in the Midlands and the South of England, and the team there received the accolade in the 2010 Midlands Business Awards event held in Birmingham. Forty-two residents live at the home in Upper Gungate and receive 24-hour care from the team of dedicated professionals.

The team received their award at the gala dinner at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, which coincidentally sponsored this category of the awards.

This was the fourth year of the awards and more than 300 people attended the ceremony at the NEC Hilton Metropole Hotel. The guest of honour was Jerry Blackett, chief executive of Birmingham and Solihull Chamber of Commerce and Industry and there was a special award to Coventry MP Geoffrey Robinson for his lifetime contribution to business in the region.

Harj Sandher, MD of organisers UK Special Events, the company behind the event, said: “We had some excellent entries and are delighted that the event is growing in popularity and quality. The range of talent in the Midlands is huge and the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and kicking.”
